Welcome to the Hadley Angling and Preservation Society

HAPS Is a small, friendly club that was formed in 1982 to control fishing at Jack’s Lake in Hadley Woods, Barnet, Hertfordshire. The lake is available to members and day tickets. The club arranges matches and coach outings for club members.

JACKS LAKE

The lake provides 46 pegs, 29 of which are fishable on a day ticket,  the remainder being available only to club members. The main species are carp, bream and roach. There are also tench, chub, perch, pike, rudd, gudgeon and very occasional eels and barbel.

Day tickets are available from dawn to dusk. Start fishing and a bailiff will be round to collect the rod fees.

TACTICS

Method feeder, waggler, bomb and floating baits on the surface during the summer months are all popular methods

BAIT

Pellets, sweetcorn, boilies, dog biscuits and maggots regularly produce results

AREAS

Lots of fish are caught next to features such as lilly pads and reed beds, in the margins and across to the far bank
