This years Fur and Feather marks the end of the season, probably for the best as the fishing was rock hard! 15 brave souls made it down for the annual breakfast at Urban Grind and match at Jack’s Lake. The weatherman promised sunny intervals, which did happen – but he forgot to mention the freezing cold winds that hammered everyone all afternoon.
Just 4 anglers caught on the day with the members end producing the bites.
Top 4 on the day were:
1st: Lenny of the Lake with 2 carp for 13lb 2oz from peg 36, taking £75 for the win plus £14 for the silver peg! Well done Lenny!
2nd: Chris “the fish” Stanton with 2 early carp for 7lb 8oz from peg 31, taking £45. Nice work Chris!
3rd: Mick Mordicai with 1 carp weighing 5lb exactly and taking £25, well done Mick!
4th: Lester with 1 tiny tiddler estimated at 1oz, which sealed the Jack’s League top spot (I haven’t picked a peg all year! 😉
Well done to everyone that made it and thanks to everyone that has fished the matches at Jack’s this year, I’ve really enjoyed running them. I’m hoping to carry on as match secretary next year but work commitments might limit my availability. But don’t fret, matches will continue! See you on the bank soon!
