1. NAME
The name of the Club shall be the Hadley Angling and Preservation Society, hereinafter referred to as the Club.
2. OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Club shall be to promote angling and protect the interests of wildlife and the preservation of the surrounding areas. Cultivate sociability and promote the principles of fair angling. Faithfully observe any close season imposed on Club waters and the suppressing of unsportsmanlike conduct, illegal practices or abuse. Appoint water bailiffs to assist in the detection and prevention of pollution and the preservation of wildlife. Promote the art of angling by instruction, demonstration and above all good examples.
3. MEMBERSHIP
Membership shall be open to anyone interested in joining the Club, non-members shall be allowed to fish JACK’S LAKE (only) by purchasing a day ticket. Purchase of a day ticket confers temporary membership on the purchasers for the duration of the day permit. Temporary members will be bound by the Club rules. Temporary members cannot use the members end.
(a)Members will be bound by Club rules.
(b) Honorary membership shall be granted at the discretion of the committee. Members failing to renew their membership by the end of April of that membership year will be classed as being lapsed members. If they apply to rejoin the Club, they will be classed as new members.
(c) Senior membership is available to persons over 16 years of age, Junior membership is available to persons under the age of 16 on the 1st April of that year. Junior members have no voting rights, Junior members must be accompanied by an adult in the members end. If aged 12 or under the they must be accompanied by an adult to fish anywhere on the lake.
(d) EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) apply for personal membership data held by the club. All members must authorise the Club to store membership data and use the information provided by members for club membership purposes only and to retain this information for up to 5 years. Club minutes/records which include personal data will be retained for a maximum of 7 years.
(e) Members consent to receive communications from us electronically. We will communicate with you by email or by posting notices on the Club website. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. It is the responsibility of members to check they have provided a valid email address and to regularly check the Club website.
4. FISHERY CARDS
Members or visitors entering the Club water do so entirely at their own risk. Members and visitors are bound by the rules of the Club and the Club will not be liable to any member or visitor or their estates for death, any personal injury sustained by them, or for the loss of any property. In the case of juniors under 16 years, the parent or guardian must confirm acceptance of this rule by signing the form of Application for Membership or purchasing a junior day ticket.
Fishery cards shall be issued on the distinct understanding that:
(a) They remain the property of the Club and shall be returned to the secretary in the event of members’ cessation or suspension.
(b) They are not transferable.
(c) They are not valid unless signed and dated by the membership secretary. The loss of a card must be notified immediately to the membership secretary together with full details of the loss. A duplicate card will only be issued on payment of a sum, as determined from time to time.
(d) They are required to be shown to any bailiff, warden or full member of the Club on request.
5. DAY TICKETS
Day Tickets shall be issued on the distinct understanding that:
(a) They remain the property of the Club.
(b) They are not transferable.
(c) They are not valid unless dated.
(d) Validity is from dawn to dusk only.
(e) They are required to be shown to any bailiff, warden or full member of the Club on request.
(f) Failure to observe the Club rules will result in you being told to leave the fishery and any rights conferred by the day ticket withdrawn.
(g) Fishing in the Club water(s) without a fishery card or day ticket is theft under the Theft Act of 1968.
