Hello everyone,
Sunday 22nd March marked our annual Champion of Champions match, bringing the 2025/26 season to a close. This year, we made the journey to Twin Lakes near Bedford, with the promise of varied catches including Carp, Barbel, Chub, and Tench.
While the fishing didn’t quite live up to expectations in terms of numbers, there were still some cracking fish brought to the net. It certainly made for a refreshing change from the usual Carp-focused action at Jacks Lake.
The day began with a chilly start following near-freezing overnight temperatures, but conditions improved as the sun broke through in the afternoon. Despite the brighter weather, the fishing proved more challenging than anticipated, with maggots emerging as the standout bait on the day.
A big well done to everyone who took part and helped make it an enjoyable and successful event at a new venue.
